Case Study : Agency

Client: Digital Marketing Agency

Not your typical company retreat!

Not your typical company retreat!

Situation

A new and rapidly growing digital marketing agency was looking to host its first annual company retreat to bring together their remote teams while introducing and educating employees on new initiatives and goals for the future. The company was working on a tight timeline as they made the decision in June to have a retreat in Sayulita, Mexico in early October of the same year.

Solution

It was incredibly important that even though this was the first company retreat for the agency, it would not be a cookie cutter run of the mill experience. This would be the first time many of the employees had met one another and with no one having traveled to Sayulita beforehand, every detail had to be perfectly executed in order to get employees excited.

Sayulita, being a small beachfront village off the Pacific Coast of Mexico, is an idyllic escape for any vacation, it also quickly proved to also be a perfect location for the unique, unconventional company retreat this agency had envisioned. Working around the clock, given the short timeline, I was able to secure travel, accommodation, transportation, meeting space, fun excursions, and dinner options that all delivered on the client’s expectations.

The location of the retreat was filled with conveniences including on site dining, easy access to the beach and water activities, and most importantly, morning meetings were a short walk to the open-air meeting space up a hill. The company employees embraced all aspects of the culture of this beautiful location - experiencing the small town activities, local dining, and shopping to fill their day after the morning company meetings. I also planned 2 outings for this group of 35 - one was a private charter catamaran cruise up the coast and the other was a rooftop dinner at one of the best seafood restaurants in town.

Results

The agency achieved its goals in executing a unique and incredibly memorable first-ever  company retreat that allowed employees to bond while also ensuring each one of them were aware of the company’s mission, vision, and goals for the future.
